All along the Tama river to Haneda ride

Postby guest » 2007年Mar月25日(Sun) 17:21

Has anyone done a ride along the Tama river ? I understand one can start in the Tama area and ride all the way down to where the Tama flows into the bay near Haneda? I love to get a route map as there are places where one has to cross the river or jut through some city streets. I've been on parts of it and the sidewalk/path was fairly wide.

Thanks,

Check out bikely.com for cycling routes. I found the following by doing a search for Toukyou routes:

If you are willing to take the city streets for a little bit, a detour via Kawasaki-daishi. A large temple complex, is worth a detour. It terms of trains, there is a station by the same name on Keikyu. (Google Maps link http://local.google.co.jp/maps?f=q&hl=ja&q=%E5%B7%9D%E5%B4%8E%E5%A4%A7%E5%B8%AB&layer=&ie=UTF8&z=17&ll=35.533466,139.728574&spn=0.007954,0.01075&om=1)

Website for the temple:

Nearby is a shrine that holds the Kanamara fertility festival in early April. Also worth a visit.
